But Tea Party supporters move in the opposite direction."

So two groups of people don't believe in climate change, don't believe that people are responsible if climate change exists, and don't believe that scientists can be "trusted": (1) uneducated, ignorant people; and.... (drumroll) the Tea Party.

I've seen that before, it's pretty hilarious. Wasn't there a Comedy Central skit showing the House Sub Committee on science getting schooled by a NASA scientist on climate change? That was pretty hilarious too.

We need to learn from our ancestors - we've already faced climate change in our history, but now we have the tools to combat it! In the centuries preceding America's founding, the world was thrust into an ice age due to man's excessive consumption of whale oil. We don't need to follow in their footsteps, We can change. We can believe in the change. America was founded in the late 18th Century and, thanks to our forefathers, we started to reverse the effects of climate change; we did it once and we can do it again! We need to free ourselves from all types of oil.

When I was in school it was taught that we are currently in an ice age and that the dimming caused by our pollution was blocking so much sunlight 40ish years ago that it countered warming and global temperatures levelled off. That the various Clean Air Acts have resulted in decreased levels of pollution, which in turn has caused warming to return that was occurring naturally in the first place. Granted this was a long time ago when it was part of the curriculum.

Regardless, climate change is of course a thing, but I am sure we will find a more creative way to fuck everything up before climate change does.
