It sounds more like an inside job because of the amount of data they took. like they had all day for months to grab 100 tb of data. Then they write the broken english threat emails to make everyone think its NK.

Actually they linked it to NK today officially, and the movie has been cancelled by Sony. ROFLMAO

It does look like they're caving into vague threats the DPRK couldn't possibly follow up on. After reading about the movie however, I think Best Korea did us all a favor by getting it pulled.
