Holy shit!!!

"The leaked documents include a list of employee salaries and bonuses; Social Security numbers and birth dates; HR employee performance reviews, criminal background checks and termination records; correspondence about employee medical conditions; passport and visa information for Hollywood stars and crew who worked on Sony films; and internal email spools.

All of these leaks are embarrassing to Sony and harmful and embarrassing to employees. But more importantly for Sony’s bottom line, the stolen data also includes the script for an unreleased pilot by Vince Gilligan, the creator of Breaking Bad as well as full copies of several Sony films, most of which have not been released in theaters yet. These include copies of the upcoming films Annie, Still Alice and Mr. Turner. Notably, no copy of the Seth Rogen flick has been part of the leaks so far."

North Korea doesn't really seem sophisticated enough imo to be able to pull this off but eh who knows how lax Sony's efforts are in security.

And damn you guys got this G-Fist kid all up on your dicks lol. Like a crazy ex who can't get over that dick she lost, she just keeps coming back for more then thrown at the door afterwards.

north korea had their hacking corps trained by the chinese. they're probably just as good as any other state sponsored hacking group.

“There is no attribution to North Korea at this point,” Joe Demarest, assistant director of the FBI’s cyber division told a panel at a cybersecurity conference.

Thanks to the failings of the gossip fueled media, we have people who think North Korea are going to attack us 9/11 style Christmas Day. They also think The Interview is so offensive that North Korea would commit an act of war to prevent it's release.

The real story, yet unknown, will be far more interesting and complex then what is being reported now. It's actually shocking how out of touch some media outlets are when it comes to reporting cyber crime and corporate blackmail.

I'm skeptical it was North Korea. Sony just doesn't want to lose credibility exposing they got haxed by a bunch of 14 year olds in IRC. This reminds me of that dumb movie they tried to pin a terrorist attack on our embassy or w/e a while back. Like a month later or something there was a page 6 paragraph saying it wasn't the case. Everyone bought into it, even though it happened on 9/11. Suckers.

with the amount of data that was grabbed I am leaning more towards the pathetic network security that Sony was using.

It still takes a semi talented hacker to break in to corporate servers but still, data troves of this magnitude should never be available for a hacker to grab. It's like they hosted everything on one big server with no encryption to speak of.

What's pathetic is that they were able to grab such a large amount with no one noticing. Either their network engineers are super retarded and just didn't notice that terabytes of data were being downloaded by an unknown IP or it was an inside job, which is also very likely.
