I saw the videos posted and it looks like you guys have been trying out some upcoming games. Are you guys playing any games currently?

I watched the Das Tal vid and the game play looks interesting. I am really at the point where I want aimed abilities rather than the automatic hit ones that so many games use. It looked like the play was a little clunky. I read that you use WASD for movement in it; does your character face the direction your mouse is pointing? Also are classes locked into certain abilities or can you choose from a set of abilities?

I watched the Albion video as well. I'm interested in it since the game allows full loot from what I have read but I'm a little taken back by the combat I saw. It looked a bit slow paced and it seemed like you can't body block people you are fighting that are running away (the video seemed to be largely you guys chasing after people that were running away). If LoD is going to be going into the game officially then I will most likely buy beta access.

How is shards? I hadn't heard of it but the fact that it is being created by former UO lead developers make it sound promising (unless they were the ones that made the game go carebear). Is it worth buying the pre-alpha access? I broke up with my gf of a couple years and don't feel like wasting my money on girls for a while so I'm looking for a game to play and I searched a lot for open world full loot/any loot pvp MMOs but I didn't have much luck.

you aim with your mouse in any direction, all movement is wasd. You run faster looking in the direction you are moving etc. NO classes its all just what weapon and what armor you are wearing that determines what skills you can use, but you have to level up your skills too.

Albion isnt perfect but is a great shadowbane/uo simulator type game, and you can play on your phone/tablet. The PvP is more skilled in what abilities you use, targets, positioning etc. They have a lot of built in anti-zerg stuff too, like the more ppl your aoe hits, the more dmg it does. Dont miss this one. https://albiononline.com/?ref=E311UE3HN6

Shards is cool cause its like a old-school uo simulator but every shard can be bought by a guild and they can determine the whole rulset/map etc. Each shard holds about 130 players. Kind of like rust meets uo, interesting. PvP is about 3rd place of all the games. Has pre-casting and insta hit drive bys like UO, but super clunky.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like Albion and Das Tal will be cool. Were you guys playing Albion Online in an alpha or test event type setting? Is there anyway to get in before the beta starts (which appears to be scheduled for November? ) I'm excited that some interesting games are on the way but the waiting game sucks.

I'm sad to hear that the pvp in Shards is clunky as I would have enjoyed a UO 2.0. I read about the player controlled shards and that's cool and all but what made UO great was the big mixture of players with different goals/objectives all existing in the same game. 130 players seems really limited and I'm surprised that they can only handle so few players as that is less than the UO servers could handle in the 90s and it doesn't seem like there is anything graphically that would restrict a larger number of players playing together.

We have been doing alphas for albion for over a year now, one of the first ones let in. The last alpha ended and nothing will be tested until the first closed beta in november, and you have to pledge to get access. Open beta is suppose to start right after, and then a release in early 2016.

The below is not a hype. I was not going make any posts promoting this game yet. But a few of us are delving in. I've had an amazing time for a week. I'm so impressed with the game I'll play solo, and really don't care who joins. In fact, I won't push this game at all. If this list excites you, definitely come try it out. If not, don't worry about it:

Highlights:

- Not a fucking pre-pre-alpha. Game has matured into an actual game. Like, just recently from what I am gathering. In fact, this is the reverse side of the alphas. It was a rough game that is now kind of done.
- Major world pop
- Red/blue open pvp
- Full loot
- Chiv style combat. Looks more clunky than it feels playing it, and *a lot* of options. Every weapon, every change in material used to craft said weapon, handles differently.
- Snooping / Thievery
- Nowhere is safe. Nowhere.
- Seriously fast char development. We're talking days to fully complete a combat toon. Days. Like night play will get you there.
- Taming of pretty much anything. Dominating too.
- Amazing crafting/weap/armor system. Seriously. Ask me in mumble.
- Most player-to-player and player-to-world interactions I've seen in a game. Nothing tops the random shit that happens in this game. Feels like UO all over again.
- Deep mechanics that are subtle but there and I appreciate it. Meticulous design at every turn.
- F2P to get started. Just grab it on steam and make an account. You can use skills up to level 60.. sub and use them at 100.
- Open world home/city/keep building
- All banks / resources in the world are localized
- Heavy learning curve, but simple and rewarding after that plunge
- Just added a whole new continent
- Adding voxels next
- The list can go the fuck on for a long time. Check in with the guys in MO channel.

I'm really only interested in people joining up who look at that list and say fuck yes. Cause it's delivered, at least to my taste. No one has all of the answers and that's part of the fun we're having. If you wanna get in on the ground floor and learn along side, it's a good time to do so. I guess there are things that you can craft and do that no one or very few people even know about. That's amazing. Don't join up thinking we're going to be rolling the red carpet out, outfitting you to go die 5 feet from the bank and log off.

P.S. - Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.
