Some Vaccines aren't all or nothing. The flu vaccine for example can just lessen the effects. In fact, you can still get the flu if you have the vaccine, however, chances of it being really bad or even fatal are much lower with the vaccine than without. You can still TRANSMIT the flu to others even if you have the vaccine and get the flu, so if they didn't get the vaccine, they'll get it much worse than you did.

So a non vaccinated kid could go to school with the flu and still get a bunch of kids with the vaccine sick. The kid without the vaccine has a higher chance of prolonged sickness or death, however.

The flu kills a fair number of kids each year.
