I don't know a ton about politics, and the details of this war.
I only know what the Government TELLS me.
I only know what the media TELLS me.

That's it. If the government and the media have told us EVERYTHING (im sure the media has told us everhting they know) then yea, you might have a point. I'm pretty sure there is more to this than we know.

Our leaders are running the worlds most powerful nation. They are EXPERTS. We don't have IDIOTS in office. Period. If we did (or do), we have 5 more competent people standing around to stop that one fool from fucking up. The presedent doesn't pick up a phone and say "Good morning Galdis... I'll have 2 eggs sunny side up, bacon, and some OJ. Oh, and tell Colin that I want to invade Iraq later tonight"

If I remember correctly, the Presedent can declare a state of war for ninty days, withough Congress' concent. After 90, if Congress doesn't like it, it doesn't happen. And I don't think it's full blown war either... it's like just moving troops in or soemthing. Shit I don't know. The POINT is, there are checks in place. If this war was a BAD idea, SOMEONE WOULD HAVE SAID SO. Bush might have some preset bias, but he wouldn't put our country in jepordy because his daddy didn't finish the job. As far as I'm concerned, our ONLY problem is we have a habbit of putting our nose where it doesn't belong. But if we even have a HUNCH that someone is working agenst us, then fuckem, we at least have the right to walk in there and inspect everthing TOP TO BOTTOM, without any bullshit. That means we GO WHERE WE WANT, PUT PLANES WHERE WE WANT, and if nessiary, TAKE WHAT WE WANT. We arn't some tyrant ass hole country. Sure, I bet we have powerplayed our status a few times, but I doubt we want to take over Iraq because we like camels. Our presence ANYWHERE, to secure the peace, should be allowed. I don't care if Kuait ivades Saudia, or Iraq takes Iran, or the brits take over france. I could care less. I care when some guy thinks to himself "Hm, god damn I hate americans, ima bomb them". That's where we need to be. If Iraq is REMOTLY a threat, I say it becomes glass.

Bottom line :
If our leaders say "War", we are at war. Have faith in those that know more than you do.

Understand that the UN resolution that put us in the first Gulf War clearly stated that our objective was to only liberate Kuwait nad de-militarize Iraq for a decade, and we succeeded at both.

We could have pushed straight into Bagdhad, and taken Saddam EASILY. But the resolution did not give us consent to do so, therefore G.W. Sr. followed UN orders and withdrew troops and signed a CEASE FIRE after both objectives were complete.

We finished the job. We followed to rules. We were successful in every aspect. So no, this G.W. isn't finishing his fathers war, a common miss-conception.

-LK

See, now I have no doubt that Bush Jr isn't doing this for any other reasons than said reasons (was that redundant?).
Or maybe UNsaid reasons, that hold more wieght than said.

In reply to:

Obviously Bush is a madman and an idiot, everyone knows that

A madman and an idiot? And everyone knows that? I remember back when your posts actually made sense to me.

If what you say is true, that means he outsmarted an entire governmental system that has been in place for hundreds of years. Which begs a lot of questions: How did an idiot end up in the highest office in our country? Certainly the American people wouldn't elect an idiot as their president, right? Or are all Americans bigger idiots than him? I just did a little research on the CNN website, and in October, 296 Representatives in the House and 77 Senators all voted to approve of the use of force in Iraq should diplomatic options fail. Are they all idiots and madmen too? Surely they didn't all fool their constituents to get into office too, did they? You really believe that? Or are you as misinformed as some of those hippies in that San Diego rally? I'm not claiming to be the all knowing political guru, but I know bullshit when I see it.

In reply to:

His "excuse" for a war with Iraq is to prevent terrorism

That's not his "excuse" for war with Iraq. It's one of the "reasons" that war is justified, however the primary "reason" is that Saddam has failed to comply with resolutions passed by the UN. The fact that the UN has failed to put any teeth into those resolutions is a failing of that institution, and we are not required to be party to their failures. At some point, someone has to step up and take responsibility for removing the cancer of the Iraqi people, and we just happen to have the scalpel and the sack to use it.

Who almost choked to death on a goddamn pretzel. :P

Apart from that, we wouldn't even have the problem of terrorism if we left each other the fuck alone instead of sticking our nose where it don't belong like you said. But hey, can't change it so oh well. As far as the president being an expert, he ain't, he's a fucking moron. :P The fact he can't even pronunciate simple words or understand a reader for a speech is testament to that. All Bush is is a puppet for the people in the government who are calling the shots, and yes they are experts at what they do.

The first gulf war I completely agree with because Saddam invaded Kuwait and was terrorizing and plundering an entire country. As far as Iraq goes, if people are too gutless to stand up against him and revolt, then why is that our problem? :P Ah well, this supposedly second gulf war will be over in a matter of days. laugh I just hope gas is cheaper.

By the way your sig owns.

I don't believe in the president because he's a fool. :P I find it funny how everyone is all of a sudden in support with what Bush is doing, including the UN, now that he's /doing/ it. Seriously, you think the UN could enforce their own shit and stop Bush by force? We'd turn France and Germany into glass.

Another simple fact is if we didn't constantly harass the world however we pleased, we wouldn't have this problem of terrorism. And Iraq wasn't behind 9/11 anyways, Osama was, or so that's what they tell us. I don't even believe that, since the media is just propaganda anyways. :P

As long as the gas prices come down after the war though I could care less. I really don't give a flying fuck about a country of people if they don't have the balls to stand up to their leader. Yeah if they do they may be tortured or killed, but then they must not want freedom that bad then.

I just hope that Saddam doesn't release chemical or biological weapons on our troops. smirk If he does though, I hope we fucking find him and release some chemicals on /him/. :P

----------------------------
